With its picturesque views and scenic beauty, Maldives is undoubtedly a go-to place for all sorts of vacations. Diving, snorkeling, surfing and other water sports on its white sand beaches make for an overall tremendous holiday experience. If relaxing is more of your thing and you’re not likely up for an active adventures, then you can opt to stay at any of the multitude of resorts on the island. To help you plan your vacation, we’ve listed down ten things you should try when you visit the Maldives (as inspired by the love shown at Jen Reviews).

HULHUMALE BEACH

After landing at the Maldives International Airport, you should first visit Hulhumale Beach as its located 7 km away. The beach is astonishingly man-made, yet the beauty of it is mesmerizing. The beautiful blue waters along with coconut trees onto the beach makes it a perfect relaxation spot. You can also visit Hulhumale Mosque that’s located nearby and explore the wonderful architecture of it.

ANBARAA ISLAND

Situated in Felidhu Atoll, the Ambaraa Island is reachable via a speedboat taken at and rode from Male.The island isn’t inhabited by the locals, and visited mostly by tourists. If you’re into marine life, then you’ll want to visit this island and see the underwater scenery that surrounds it.

Leaving a vacation spot without having a souvenir as a memory is a crime in itself. Hence, the Nala Boutique, an all-encompassing destination for all things Maldives, from trinkets to decors. It’s 45 minutes away from Male and provides all the gifts and handmade items you would want to impress your loved ones back home with. TSUNAMI MEMORIAL (MALE)

To pay homage to a place’s sacred and important sites is a sign of love and respect. The tsunami that hit Maldives on Boxing Day in 2004 was a great disaster and wiped out many lives. In remembrance of the dead, a memorial was built; it is located merely an hour away from the Male Airport.

If you’re an adventurous traveler with an addiction to adrenaline rush, then head off to Gulhi Island, 20 kilometres off from Male International Airport. Here, you can expect to enjoy water sports such as snorkeling, diving, and kayaking to your heart’s content.

Nothing beats the exuberance of seeing romantically lit sea-views. So if you’re on a honeymoon, you definitely must take your significant other to Lily Beach.
