Our trip in the Great Island is composed of two sites: The west coast of Madagascar between the Tsingy of Bemaraha and the coastal city of Morondava. We will go by flight to Morondava and then to the Tsingy. Andasibe-Mantadia NaDonal Park (Perinet) has a unique wildlife, orchids and other rare plants, many species of lemurs, repDles, and amphibians and this excepDonal nature can be explored on foot between waterfalls, rivers and rainforests. From Tamatave, the paradise island of Sainte Marie welcomes us. Beaches, coconut palms and very cheerful people, the island is perfect for sea and land excursions.

Day 01: Arrival in Antananarivo

Arrival in Antananarivo. Meet your guide in the hall of the airport. Transfer to your hotel.

Day 02: Morondava – Tsingy de Bemaraha

Have breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the airport. Fly to Morondava. We drive out of Morondava towards the famous “Allée des Baobabs” on the way to Kirindy. Then we head north and drive on an uncomfortable but the only land track to the Park classified as a World Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. We go across Tsiribihina and Manambolo Rivers by a small car ferry before we arrive at Bekopaka village.

Day 03: Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park

Tsingy is a limestone cathedral, a formation with many faults, cracks and eroded blocks to sharp rocks makes it the most spectacular landscape of Madagascar. This Jurassic massif formation started 200 million years ago, the time the sea still covering Bemaraha region. Discover the most amazing site with a local guide. Lunch in picnic.

Day 04: Bekopaka – Morondava

We head back to Morondava and cross Manambolo and Tsiribihina rivers by ferry. We pass through the famous “Allée des Baobabs” just before we get to Morondava town. The sunset is spectacular here. Return to Morondava town and settle into our hotel by the sea.

Day 05: Antananarivo – Andasibe

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the airport for the flight to Antananarivo. Meet your guide at the airport and go toward Andasibe. Nocturnal visit in Vakona Private Reserve.

Day 06: Périnet National Park – Tamatave

We walk into the forest to discover this protected area with a local guide. It is mainly covered with rain forests peculiar to the east part of Madagascar. The park provides a habitat for rare and/or endemic species of rain forest. Here we meet the largest lemur which is the Indri Indri with fascinating family group behaviour. The guide will inform you about their customs. The Aye-Aye (Daubentonia Madagascariensis) is an endemic nocturnal lemur which is the most strange and archaic of all species. Other species living in the forest are bamboo lemur (Hapalemur Griseus), woolly lemur (Avahi Laniger). The flora is very interesting, and there are many medicinal plants. Lunch in Restaurant and we take back the Ravinala (Traveler’s palm) road to reach the east coast and Toamasina.

Day 07: Tamatave – Sainte Marie

Breakfast at the hotel and then drive to the North. We cross the village of Foulpointe up to Mahambo. From there we take a boat to Sainte Marie. Sainte Marie is quiet and peaceful place, with natural white sand and coconut palms. Transfer to hotel.

Day 08 – 09: Sainte Marie

Days at leisure in Sainte Marie Island. You are free to choose your activity, the best way to move around is by bicycle or motor bike. You can rent a mountain bike to go east coast, visit pirate graveyards or just ride along the beach and villages. You can go to “Ile aux Nattes” at the very south of Sainte Marie, then take a canoe to go across the lagoon to the other side, the tour of the island on foot along the beach is enchanting. You have a possibility for a sea outing, diving or snorkelling towards the coral reef in this clear water.

Day 10: Sainte Marie – Antananarivo (Departure)

After breakfast, we head to the airport of Sainte-Marie for the flight to Antananarivo. The guide will be at the airport to help with check out procedures. We go back to the airport for the international flight.
