After that, we will visit Ájtte Museum. You can see the exhibits of sámi costume from hides and leather to festive dress of cloth. The museum also shows the Sámi silver and its medieval design, as well as their religion and settler life in early 1900s and much more…!

Day 7

Särkimukka has 20 times more dogs than people. We will take you into a kennel where you can meet 180 huskies and puppies. You will then have a chance to go fishing in a lake nearby, where it has a good amount of trout and perch that you may catch for your lunch. No worries if you do not get a fish, you will still have lunch in the hotel before proceeding to Juoksengi, a photo stop of the Arctic Circle. You will be given an Arctic Circle Certificate as a memento for your journey inside the Arctic Circle.

Towards the end of the journey, you will spend your last day in a charming village Kukkola by the Sweden-Finland border. The village is alongside the Torne River and famous for its local specialty “smoked whitefish”. We will follow a guided tour to the cultural fishing village by the Kukkola rapids. There we will see the locals catch whitefish by net bags and we will bake our own breads in the timber smoked hut. You will have some time to rest before the farewell dinner with grilled local fish.
