Is Iceland worth visiting in 2025? Here’s why everyone’s saying yes

If you’ve been seeing Iceland pop up in travel lists, news articles, or random Reels, you're not alone.

Searches for best time to see the Northern Lights and Iceland 2025 are climbing fast. Travel experts are calling this the year to go. Not just because it's trending, but because solar activity is expected to peak between the end of 2024 and early 2025. Which means stronger auroras and a much better chance of actually seeing the lights.

But Iceland isn’t just about that one-night moment in the sky. The landscapes are unreal. Think waterfalls that roar, beaches that look like volcanic ash, and hot springs tucked into quiet valleys.

If you’re flying from Singapore, don’t do it for two or three days unless you’re mixing it with another country. It’s a long flight. Iceland deserves at least 7 days. That’s when it starts to make sense.

3 Nights Iceland Adventure

Here’s what a full Iceland trip looks like and what you should know before you go.

What is Reykjavik like for first time visitors?

You land in cold air. The airport is quiet. Everything is surprisingly calm.

Reykjavik doesn’t try too hard. It’s not massive and it’s not built for chaos. You walk, you eat, you settle in. Grab a coffee. Try the cinnamon buns. Stare at the Hallgrímskirkja church. Then get some sleep. The real adventure starts the next day.

What can you expect from the Golden Circle route?

The Golden Circle covers three big stops. Thingvellir National Park where two tectonic plates meet and shift. Gullfoss waterfall which you can hear before you see. And Geysir, where boiling water shoots up from the ground on repeat.

It’s one of the easiest ways to feel like you’ve entered a different planet.

Some travellers also visit the Secret Lagoon. Smaller. Quieter. You soak in natural geothermal water while steam curls around the surface. No need to speak. Just float.

Iceland Packages

Is the South Coast of Iceland worth visiting?

Definitely. It’s where Iceland gets loud.

Seljalandsfoss is the waterfall you can walk behind. Skógafoss is the one you hear in your chest. Both are huge. Both are unforgettable.

Then you reach Reynisfjara. That’s the black sand beach. The waves are strong. The cliffs look like they were carved by someone with time and no mercy. You might take photos. Or you might just stand there.

What is Jökulsárlón and why do people talk about it so much?

Jökulsárlón is a glacial lagoon where huge pieces of ice drift slowly across the water. There’s a stillness there that feels heavy but peaceful.

Some trips also take you into a glacier cave. You’ll wear crampons. There’s a guide. And once you're inside, the world outside doesn’t really matter for a while.

Bring gloves. And maybe stop trying to get the perfect photo. It’s one of those moments where just being there is enough.

Scenic Iceland with Golden Circle and South Iceland Tour

When is the best time to see the Northern Lights in Iceland?

October to March. The skies are darker and solar activity is expected to peak around this period.

You’ll need clear weather, low light pollution, and some patience. No one can promise anything. But when it happens, it’s quiet and overwhelming at the same time.

The lights shift slowly. Sometimes green, sometimes white or even purple. You’ll look up, forget the cold, and probably not say much.

What do most people do on the last day of an Iceland trip?

By the end of the sixth day, most travellers are tired in a good way.

Some spend their final morning in a geothermal spa near the airport. Others take one last walk. A good breakfast helps. Nothing rushed. Just space to think about the week before the flight home.

Can you find halal food in Iceland?

Sometimes. Not everywhere.

You’ll find halal options in Reykjavik and possibly a few other towns. Outside the city, you’ll mostly be looking at vegetarian or seafood dishes. We’ll always let you know in advance where halal is available and where it’s best to pack your own snacks or instant meals.

Bring what you need to feel comfortable. And we’ll help you plan it clearly so there are no surprises.
