Day 01: Arrival in Mexico

Arrival in Mexico City and transfer to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 02: Teotihuacan
Day 02: Teotihuacan

Visit the site of Teotihuacan, Guadalupe Shrine, and Three Culture Square. Few cities in the world have been considered worthy of being inhabited by gods, who are accustomed to occupying loftier realms than those people by mere mortals. It was the most prestigious city of the Classical period. Over 460 years ago, the legend says that the Guadalupe Shrine was blessed with the appearance of the Virgin Mary by an Aztec Indian in Mexico. Return to the hotel after the tour.

Day 03: Cuernavaca – Taxco

Transfer to Taxco with a stop in Cuernavaca. Cuernavaca is known as the forever spring city for its good climate all year. Continue to Taxco. Considered as one of Mexico’s most picturesque towns, this charming destination offers cobblestone streets, colonial buildings, and white houses with red tile roofs. Another notable attraction of unparalleled beauty is the Catedral de Santa Prisca (Santa Prisca Cathedral), one of the most representative examples of baroque architecture in Mexico. Return to Mexico City.

Day 04: Oaxaca

Arrive at Oaxaca and enjoy a free afternoon visiting the city. In Oaxaca, you can admire the beautiful architecture of the buildings in the Centro Historico (Historic Center), which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 05: Monte Alban – Tuxtla Gutierrez

Our visits of the day will be to the Monte Alban Archaeological Site, which is the former Center of the Zapotec Empire, and was occupied later by the Mixtecs. Because of its important cultural development and its monumental architecture, UNESCO declared this archaeological zone a World Heritage Site in 1987. Tour finishes at 5:00 PM. Return to the hotel to pick up the luggage and Transfer to the bus station to take the public bus to Tuxtla.

Day 06: Tuxtla Gutiérrez – Sumidero Canyon – San Cristóbal de las Casas

The tour to Sumidero Canyon starts at 12:00 PM. Pick up at 09:00 AM at the bus station and continue to Chiapa de Corzo, this little town stands by the Grijalva River from where we can explore the impressive Cañon del Sumidero (Sumidero Canyon), one of the nation’s most important natural attractions. In addition, you can visit the magnificent El Chorreadero waterfall, which has gorgeous calcareous caverns and underground rivers. One-hour boat trip in this Canyon. Continue to San Cristobal de las Casas for an overnight stay.

Day 07: San Juan Chamula

Morning guided tour to visit San Juan Chamula, Zinacantan in San Cristobal where you’ll admire all the typical rites the Indians keep. Return to San Cristobal de las Casas, and afternoon at leisure In this city, you can discover by yourself impressive religious edifices like the Cathedral or the Templo de Santo Domingo. These buildings were restored using a combination of profuse baroque-style details and local architectural elements, which perpetuate the cultural heritage of ethnic groups that live in the surrounding areas, such as the Tzotziles, Tzeltales, and the Lacandons.

Day 08: Agua Azul – Palenque

After breakfast, transfer by road to Palenque. Stop at the Agua Azul waterfalls to admire their turquoise-colored waters. Continue to Palenque. Accommodation and a night at the hotel in Palenque.

Day 09: Campeche

Visit the site of Palenque, where we find the most notable ruins of the Mayan culture, it was once a city ruled by priests who knew very well mathematics and astrology. Transfer to Campeche and check-in at the hotel.

Day 10: Uxmal – Merida

Today, visit Uxmal, located 80 km from Merida, a real jewel of the classic Maya style, where the Maya expressed their beliefs in their temple designs the temple of the diviner (built by a short man who was the king, according to a legend) the nuns quadrangle (where you may admire the splendor of Puuc style in its flat walls and decorated friezes) and the governor’s palace. Considered one of the most beautiful buildings. Continue to Merida and overnight.

Day 11: Chichen Itza – Cancun/Playa del Carmen

Departure to Chichén-Itzá. In this place, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, you will be transported to pre-Hispanic times. You will visit among other buildings The Pyramid of Kukulkan, one of the most iconic examples of Maya architecture of all time. Each year, during the spring and autumn equinoxes, the famous feathered serpent slides down the steps of the temple showcasing the precise coordination with which the Mayas were able to harmonize nature and their surroundings. Route to Playa del Carmen or Cancun depending on your choice.
