Highlights: Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, Kiyomizudera Temple, Ninenzaka, Sannenzaka, Yasaka Shrine, Gion District
Meals: Breakfast
- After breakfast, enjoy a full day exploring Kyoto, Japan's former imperial capital and one of the country's most culturally significant cities.
- Begin at Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates that form seemingly endless pathways through the forested hillside. Founded in 711 AD, the shrine is dedicated to Inari, the Shinto deity associated with rice, agriculture, prosperity, and industry. Throughout the shrine grounds, you will encounter numerous fox statues, believed to be messengers of Inari. The full round trip hike to the summit takes two to three hours, but many visitors only walk 30 to 40 minutes to the Yotsutsuji intersection because the number of torii gates decreases beyond that point.
- Continue to Kiyomizudera Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its massive wooden stage that extends over the hillside without the use of nails. The temple offers panoramic views of Kyoto and is also known for the sacred waters of Otowa Waterfall, believed to bring blessings and good fortune.
- Next, stroll through the preserved streets of Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka, lined with traditional wooden buildings, tea houses, souvenir shops, and local cafés that showcase Kyoto's historic atmosphere.
- Visit Yasaka Shrine, the guardian shrine of Kyoto's Gion district and a site with more than 1,350 years of history. The shrine is particularly associated with good fortune, prosperity, and the famous Gion Matsuri Festival.
- End the day in Gion, Kyoto's renowned geisha district. Wander through charming cobblestone streets lined with traditional machiya townhouses, teahouses, and restaurants. During the evening, you may even catch a glimpse of geiko (geisha) or maiko (apprentice geisha) making their way to appointments.
- Return to your hotel after the tour.

The Daibutsu-den (Great Buddha Hall) is also one of the world's largest wooden buildings.
- Continue to nearby Nara Park, famous for its hundreds of freely roaming deer, regarded as sacred messengers in Shinto tradition. Visitors may purchase deer crackers (Shika Senbei) to feed the friendly animals.
