Highlights: Fushimi Inari Taisha, Senbon Torii Gates, Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Ninenzaka, Sannenzaka, Yasaka Shrine, Gion District
Meals: Breakfast
- After breakfast, continue your exploration of Kyoto's most visited cultural landmarks.
- Begin at Fushimi Inari Taisha, one of Japan's most important Shinto shrines. The shrine is famous for its thousands of vermilion Senbon Torii Gates, which form pathways through the wooded slopes of Mount Inari. These gates have been donated by businesses and individuals over many generations and have become one of Kyoto's most photographed sights. The full round trip hike to the summit takes two to three hours, but many visitors only walk 30 to 40 minutes to the Yotsutsuji intersection because the number of torii gates decreases beyond that point.
- Next, visit Kiyomizu-dera Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site founded in 778. The temple is known for its large wooden stage built without nails and its views across Kyoto.
- Continue on foot through Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka, two preserved streets lined with traditional wooden buildings, tea houses, souvenir shops, and local restaurants. These historic lanes provide a glimpse into Kyoto's past and remain among the city's most popular walking areas.
- Visit Yasaka Shrine, one of Kyoto's most significant Shinto shrines, before continuing to the nearby Gion District, known for its traditional machiya townhouses, tea houses, and geisha culture. While exploring the district, you may see locals dressed in kimono and experience one of Kyoto's best-preserved historic neighbourhoods.
- Overnight in Kyoto.

- Continue to Nara Park, where hundreds of deer roam freely throughout the grounds. Considered sacred messengers in the Shinto religion, these deer have become one of the city's best-known symbols.
