May to September (Autumn to Winter): The cooler and drier months are generally best for this route, especially for Kruger National Park safari experiences, wildlife viewing, and comfortable sightseeing across Johannesburg and the Panorama Route.

Mid-December to March (Summer): Ideal for Cape Town, the Cape Peninsula, and the Cape Winelands, with warm coastal weather, sunny days, and excellent conditions for scenic drives and outdoor experiences.

February to April (late Summer to Autumn): One of the best overall periods for this combined itinerary, offering pleasant temperatures across both safari and coastal regions with balanced touring conditions.

September to November (Spring): Mild spring weather brings comfortable safari conditions, greener landscapes, blooming scenery, and enjoyable sightseeing throughout Cape Town and the surrounding wine regions.

Welcome to South Africa! Upon arrival at OR Tambo International Airport, you will be welcomed by your driver in the arrivals hall and transferred to your hotel in the suburb of Melrose North. Later, enjoy a half day orientation tour of Johannesburg. Known as the “City of Gold”, Johannesburg offers a mix of modern city life, historical landmarks, and cultural contrasts. The tour comes with a special visit to Soweto. After returning to your boutique hotel, in the quiet suburb of Johannesburg the evening is at leisure and you may choose to enjoy dinner at the hotel restaurant (optional).

Day 2: Johannesburg to the Lowveld

After breakfast and check out, you will be picked up by a driver that will transfer you towards South Africa’s scenic Lowveld region, home to both the Panorama Route and the world-renowned Kruger National Park. After check-in at the Lodge, the remainder of the day is at leisure. You may choose to relax beside the pool or consider optional activities available such as a visit to Chimp Eden, the Sudwala Caves or the Lowveld Botanical Gardens.

Day 3: Kruger National Park Safari

Today is dedicated to one of South Africa’s most recognised wildlife experiences with a full day guided safari inside Kruger National Park. Travel through the reserve in an open 4x4 safari vehicle while searching for the famous Big Five: lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, and the shy leopard. As the animals roam freely, throughout the park, you may not spot all of them and each safari day unfolds differently depending on wildlife movement and conditions. There are many more big and small animals to admire. Beyond the Big Five, Kruger is also home to giraffes, zebras, antelope, vultures, baboons, and many smaller species spread across the bushveld landscapes of the reserve.

Day 4: Panorama Route Scenic Tour

Today’s route takes you through one of South Africa’s best-known scenic regions, where mountain roads, escarpment landscapes, waterfalls, and canyon viewpoints shape much of the Lowveld. Visit Bourke’s Luck Potholes, formed by centuries of swirling water erosion, before continuing towards Blyde River Canyon and the Three Rondavels viewpoints overlooking one of the largest green canyons in the world. The route continues through Graskop and Pilgrim’s Rest, with stops at God’s Window, Lisbon Falls, and MacMac Falls along the way. The changing scenery throughout the day adds a completely different side to the safari portion of the itinerary, combining mountain landscapes, forested viewpoints, and historic towns connected by winding panoramic roads. A stop at Harrie’s Pancakes in Graskop is also a MUST!

Day 5: Lowveld to Cape Town

After breakfast and check out, transfer to Kruger Mpumalanga Airport for your scheduled flight to Cape Town. Welcome to Cape Town, also called "Mother City", a wonderful melting pot of different people, cultures, religions and colours. Upon arrival, meet your driver and continue towards your Hotel located at the lively V&A Waterfront, in the heart of Cape Town. The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy at your own pace. You may wish to explore the waterfront area known for its restaurants, cafés, harbour atmosphere, and views towards Table Mountain. Optional experiences suggested are: the Cape Wheel, the Time Out Food Market, Watershed Market, or a sunset cruise from the harbour.

Day 6: Cape Peninsula & Coastal Scenic Drive

You will embark on a wonderful guided Cape Peninsula Tour today. Staring with an early morning pick up by an experienced driver guide at your accommodation. You will drive through the prestigious Atlantic seaboard areas of Clifton & Camps Bay and Llundudno, via Hout Bay onto one of the worlds most scenic routes, the Chapman's Peak Drive (depending on seasonal conditions). In Noordhoek you will have the opportunity to see Ostriches before you make your way to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve & Cape Point. After some time at this very, but not the most, Southern Tip of Africa, you will continue your journey to the Penguin Colony at Boulders Beach, then the seaside towns Simonstown and Muizenberg and continue via False Bay to the scenic country site of the Constantia Winelands.

Day 7: Table Mountain & Cape Town City Tour

Today you’ll explore Cape Town’s city centre and several of its historical and cultural landmarks. Begin at the Castle of Good Hope before continuing to the Company Gardens and the South African Museum. The tour then moves towards Bo-Kaap, the historic Cape Malay Quarter recognised for its colourful houses and hillside streets overlooking the city. You’ll also visit Greenmarket Square, known for local African arts and crafts, before making your way towards Signal Hill and / or Table Mountain, Cape Towns famous icon. Using your included Fast Track Cable Car ticket, travel to the summit where panoramic views stretch across the city, coastline, and Table Bay below. The day comes to an end and you can relax at the V&A for a lovely dinner (optional).

Day 8: Cape Winelands Tour
Day 8: Cape Winelands Tour

Spend the day exploring the Cape Winelands, where vineyard-covered valleys, mountain backdrops, and historic wine estates shape the atmosphere of the region. Begin in Stellenbosch, one of South Africa’s oldest wine towns, known for its Cape Dutch architecture, oak-lined streets, and long-established wine culture. Enjoy a cellar tour and, if not too early, an optional chocolate and wine pairing experience. Continue to Franschhoek, often referred to as the “French Corner”, where the surrounding vineyards and mountain scenery give the area a quieter countryside feel compared to Cape Town. Here, enjoy a wine tasting at one of the local wine farms while also viewing the Huguenot Monument. The final stop is Paarl for a cheese and wine tasting before returning to Cape Town through the rolling vineyard landscapes of the Winelands region.
