Day 1 : Arrival in Paris

Welcome to Paris. Upon arrival, enjoy an included transfer to your hotel and free time to relax or explore independently.
Tour information will be provided during the afternoon, either directly by the tour team or via the information board at the hotel reception.
Please note that hotel check-in is generally from 2:00 PM. Travellers requiring earlier room access should consider booking an additional night. Guests with pre-booked extra nights may enjoy the city independently until scheduled tour activities begin. Optional excursions may be offered during the tour and early booking is recommended where available. All timings shown throughout the itinerary are indicative and may be adjusted by the tour director.

Day 2 : Paris, Versailles & Montmartre

Highlights: Versailles excursion, Montmartre and Paris city tour

Meals: Breakfast

Depart Paris at approximately 7:45 AM for Versailles, arriving around 8:30 AM. Visit the Palace of Versailles (admission not included), the former residence of French kings. Entry queues may be lengthy during busy periods.
At approximately 11:30 AM, return to Paris and continue to Montmartre, the city's famous artists' district. Visit the Sacré-Cœur Basilica and enjoy time to explore its lively squares and narrow streets.
At 3:00 PM, join a panoramic city tour with a local guide. See the Arc de Triomphe, Champs-Élysées, La Madeleine, Place de la Concorde, Opéra, Louvre, City Hall, Notre-Dame area, Latin Quarter, Panthéon, Sorbonne, Luxembourg Gardens, Les Invalides, Champ de Mars, Eiffel Tower, and the Seine River banks. Brief stops are included near Les Invalides and Champ de Mars.
Return to the hotel afterwards, with an optional city-centre drop-off available for those wishing to spend additional time in Paris. The order of sightseeing may vary due to local conditions.

Day 3 : Eiffel Tower & Seine River Boat Ride

Highlights: Eiffel Tower and Seine River Boat Ride

Depart the hotel at approximately 8:30 AM and visit the Eiffel Tower. Admission to the second floor is included, offering wide views across Paris and its landmarks.
Afterwards, enjoy an included Seine River boat ride lasting approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. The boat ride provides views of many of Paris’ historic monuments, bridges, and riverside landmarks.
The remainder of the day is free for independent sightseeing, shopping, dining, or exploring the city at your own pace.
If waiting times at the Eiffel Tower are excessive, the visit may be rescheduled to another suitable time during your stay.

Day 4 : Paris - Beaune - Lyon

Highlights: Burgundy region, Beaune and Lyon

Depart Paris at approximately 8:00 AM and travel through Burgundy, one of France’s best known wine regions.
Arrive in Beaune around 12:15 PM. This attractive town is known for its historic hospice, wine heritage, and flower-lined streets. Enjoy free time to explore and have lunch.
Depart Beaune at approximately 2:30 PM and continue to Lyon, arriving around 4:30 PM. Located on the Rhône River, Lyon's historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy an included funicular ride to Notre-Dame de Fourvière for panoramic city views before free time in the city centre.
For operational reasons, some departures may overnight in Chambéry instead of Lyon. In such cases, departure from Lyon is scheduled around 7:00 PM with arrival in Chambéry at approximately 8:30 PM.

Day 5 : Lyon - Geneva - Neuchâtel - Zurich

Highlights: Geneva, Neuchâtel and Swiss lakes

Please keep your passport accessible for the Switzerland border crossing.
Depart Lyon at approximately 8:00 AM and arrive in Geneva around 10:00 AM. Pass the Palais des Nations before visiting the English Garden and its famous Flower Clock. You will also see the Jet d’Eau, one of Europe’s tallest fountains. Enjoy free time beside Lake Geneva and in the city centre.
After lunch, continue through Switzerland, passing Lake Geneva and Lake Neuchâtel.
Arrive in Neuchâtel at approximately 2:30 PM. Enjoy time to walk beside the lake, explore the old town, or visit the historic castle.
Depart around 4:00 PM, passing Lake Biel before arriving in Zurich at approximately 6:15 PM. Enjoy free time to explore the city centre.
Depending on passenger numbers, the Geneva–Zurich sector may occasionally operate by train instead of coach, in which case the Neuchâtel stop will not take place.

Day 6 : Zurich - Rapperswil - Zurich

Highlights: Lake Zurich boat ride and Rapperswil

Today combines a guided city walk, a lake boat ride and a Swiss rail journey.
Depart the hotel at approximately 9:00 AM and enjoy a walk through Zurich, Switzerland’s largest city and financial centre.
At approximately 10:30 AM, board a two hour boat ride on Lake Zurich, passing lakeside villages and shoreline views.
Arrive in Rapperswil around 12:30 PM. Known for its medieval castle and charming old town, this lakeside village offers free time for sightseeing and lunch.
At approximately 3:00 PM, return to Zurich by train. The journey takes just under 35 minutes. Enjoy free time in Zurich upon arrival.
Depending on passenger numbers, some city transfers may be conducted by public transport. Boat schedules may vary and the itinerary may be adjusted accordingly.

Day 7 : Zurich - Grindelwald - Lucerne - Zurich

Wear warm clothing and comfortable walking shoes. The cable car may occasionally be affected by weather or maintenance.
Depart Zurich at approximately 7:30 AM and travel through mountain and lake landscapes to Grindelwald in the Bernese Alps.
Arrive around 10:00 AM and enjoy a short break before taking the included cable car to Grindelwald First. Enjoy a 30-minute walk with views of glaciers, alpine peaks, and the famous suspension footbridge. An included lunch is provided today, with vegetarian options available.
At approximately 1:45 PM, continue to Lucerne. Arrive around 3:30 PM and enjoy free time to visit the Kapellbrücke, Town Hall Square, Clock Tower, and the city's attractive lakeside streets.
Depart Lucerne at approximately 7:00 PM and return to Zurich, arriving around 8:00 PM. For operational reasons, departure from Lucerne may occasionally be brought forward to approximately 5:30 PM.
An optional Mount Titlis excursion may be offered, including a rotating cable car journey to over 3,000 metres above sea level for glacier and Alpine views. If the Grindelwald-First cable car is unavailable, alternative transportation will be arranged.

Day 8 : Zurich - Strasbourg - Paris

Depart Zurich at approximately 7:30 AM and travel towards Strasbourg, arriving around 10:30 AM.

Great family trip to Shanghai, Xi’an and Beijing with smooth overall organization, even with elderly parents. Fayyaz effectively helped with the organization, in particular with our need for a French speaking guide. Miko kept on checking with us during the tour. Christian (Shanghai) and Lily (Xi’an) were excellent — knowledgeable, engaging, and very attentive. Clear explanations, smart pacing, and well-planned visits. Truly top-quality guides. Beijing with Willie was significantly less effective. Limited explanations, difficult communication in French, and the 798 Art District lacked structure and curation. More preparation and guidance , and a guide who speaks French (as requested) would have improved the experience. Shanghai and Xi’an were highlights thanks to Christian and Lily. Will definitely recommend in particular if you have some special request. For language request, next time I will ask to speak with the guide to avoid paying extra for nothing or not much.

I returned near end September from a tremendously enjoyable 11-day solo self drive vacation to Iceland (11th day is actually early morning departure from Iceland), all thanks and appreciation to Fayyaz Travels! In all my family and personal overseas vacations, I always did extensive research followed by bookings of the accommodations, attractions and transport logistics. However due to a last minute change of plans from a self drive vacation in earthquake prone Hokkaido to my dream self drive vacation in Iceland, I decided to engage a local reputed travel agency that specialises in personalised and customised travel. In April, after I booked my return Singapore-Frankfurt-Reykjavik tickets on Singapore Airlines and Icelandair, I contacted Tailwinds Travel, Chan Brothers and Fayyaz Travels, and only Miko from Fayyaz Travels persevered. After receiving the planning fee, Miko spent a lot of his time and energy crafting a 10-day self drive itinerary (10th day is departure from Iceland) that (1) takes me to attractions all around Iceland accessible on the Ring Road, including the renowned Diamond Circle and Golden Circle routes, with the occasional detours (2) puts me in 3-star hotels with private bathroom (3) hopefully fulfils my wish list of seeing the Northern Lights (September to March is the aurora viewing season), whale watching and hiking on a glacier (4) meets my intended budget. I extended the car rental for one more day (i.e. 11 days) to meet my original departure date, to which I did a simple itinerary of driving to attractions on the less travelled yet breathtaking Silver Circle route and Reykjanes Peninsula. Upon receiving payment for the package, Miko then coordinated with the Iceland Ground Team on “locking” the detailed itinerary, hotel bookings and car rental. Based on my request, Miko also included a refund package for Notice of Cancellation of Tour. About 3 weeks before departure, Miko kindly arranged a Teams telecon for pre-departure queries that I may have, of which I queried about the use of credit cards without the 4 digit pin code. On the same day, Miko created a WhatsApp group chat comprising me, him and Dean (from the Iceland Ground team) so that I am in constant contact with them throughout my Iceland trip. The WhatsApp chat group is so important and re-assuring for me! During the planning, Miko wrote “…The stop points that I’ve chosen are not only beautiful but also some of the safest and most convenient along the Ring Road. I want you to have an amazing experience without any stress, and I genuinely think this plan strikes the right balance.” Indeed, this was ever so true! Throughout my self drive in a Hyundai i10 manual car, I safely visited some of the most spectacular natural wonders of Mother Nature/Earth in the Land of Fire and Ice - waterfalls, geysers, mountains, lakes, canyons, coastal cliffs, hexagonal rocks, glacier (yes I hiked Falljökull Glacier), lava cave (yes I took a tour at Vidgelmir Cave) etc and of course the Northern Lights on only one of the ten nights in which I captured on my DSLR camera on a tripod using 15 seconds exposure (most of the hotels are outside the light polluted cities) as well as beautiful man- made attractions (e.g. Haligrimskirkja Church) I can never thank Miko, Dean and Fayyaz Travels for my extremely memorable once-in-a-lifetime Iceland adventure! To this end, I definitely recommend Fayyaz Travels to anyone seeking personalised and stress-free vacation as this travel agency has shown excellent professionalism, service, knowledge and dedication.
