This 13 day tour gives you the best of Australia and New Zealand. Separated by just about 3 and half hours, you get to explore both these magnificent countries.

In Australia you cover Sydney, Gold coast and Melbourne. In New Zealand, you get to experience Middle-Earth, the Lord of the Rings way as you visit the hobbit movie set, the elegant city of Roturua and Queenstown. Your journey comes to an end in Queenstown from where you depart back home!

Day 01: Arrival – Sydney

Welcome to Australia! After you arrive at Sydney airport, you are transferred from Sydney Airport to your hotel. Once you arrived, you can check in and enjoy the remainder of the evening at your leisure.

Day 02: Sydney – Blue Mountains Adventure
Day 02: Sydney – Blue Mountains Adventure

Head out of the city and stop at Euroka clearing to search for wildlife. See native birds and wild Eastern Grey Kangaroos in their natural habitat. Stop for morning tea (own expense) at Glenbrook, then experience a two-hour guided walk to Wentworth Falls (reasonable fitness required). See Australian native flora and fauna as you make your way into the valley of Wentworth Falls. Learn about Aboriginal culture and history as you pass ancient rock carvings. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the beautiful Wentworth Falls. After lunch sees the famous Three Sisters as your guide leads you down the historic rock-carved Furber stairs into the picturesque Jamison Valley. World heritage rainforest surrounds you as you view Katoomba Falls. Next, ride the Scenic Railway from the bottom of the valley back up to Scenic World. Sit back and relax on the return journey to Sydney.

Day 03: Sydney – Gold Coast

In the morning you are transferred to the airport to fly to Gold Coast. On arrival, you are transferred to your Gold Coast hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 04: Gold Coast – Warner Bros Movie World

In the morning the shuttle will come to pick you up at 9 AM in the hotel to take you to Warner Bros Movie World. At 5 pm shuttle will pick you up and will return to the hotel. Enjoy the remainder of your evening at leisure.

Day 05: Gold Coast – Melbourne

In the morning you will be transferred to the airport to take a flight to Melbourne. When you arrive at Melbourne airport, the shuttle will take you from the airport to the hotel.

Day 06: Melbourne – Great Ocean Road

A vehicle will pick you up from your hotel to commence a full-day Great Ocean Road Sunset tour. Experience all the scenic wonders of this world-famous coastal drive, arriving at the iconic Twelve Apostles to enjoy a memorable sunset. Enjoy the interactive nature of our fully guided tour and the stunning panoramas of the internationally renowned Port Campbell National Park, including the 12 Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge. Tour concludes at approximately 9:00 PM, at which time hotel drop-offs will commence. Then return to your hotel and enjoy your night at leisure.

Day 07: Melbourne departure

In the morning you are transferred to the international airport to take your flight to Auckland, New Zealand. Imagine an urban environment where everyone lives within half an hour of beautiful beaches, hiking trails, and a dozen enchanting holiday islands. Add a sunny climate, a background rhythm of Polynesian culture and a passion for outstanding food, wine, and shopping, and you’re beginning to get the picture of Auckland, New Zealand, our largest and most diverse city. More than just a city, Auckland is a whole region full of things to see and do. Best of all, with so many experiences close by it’s easy to hop from one adventure to the next.

Day 08: Auckland Morning City Sights

Travel through the city Centre, along Karangahape Road with its chequered past and electric vibe, past fashionable Ponsonby, and over the Auckland Harbour Bridge, enjoying views of the Hauraki Gulf and city skyline. Visit the Viaduct Harbour and Auckland’s famous Queen Street before continuing to the Auckland Domain. The Domain is the city’s oldest park and, at 75 hectares, one of its largest. Developed around an extinct volcano, it features tropical gardens, duck ponds, and public art, and is also home to the Auckland War Memorial Museum. After visiting the Domain, the tour continues to Parnell Village for a brief morning tea stop (own expense). The historic buildings of Parnell have been transformed into a trendy shopping area featuring a range of boutiques, craft, and specialty stores. Tour concludes at approximately 12:45 PM, at which time accommodation drop-offs will commence. The evening is free to take a stroll in the city of sails and have an overnight at the hotel.

Day 09: Hobbiton Express Tour – Auckland to Rotorua – One Way

A vehicle will pick you up from your inner city Auckland accommodation to commence a full-day Hobbiton Express tour. Begin by traveling south from Auckland over the Bombay Hills to the rich farmland of the Waikato region and then through the heritage town of Cambridge, where tree-lined streets add to the English-style atmosphere. From here travel through undulating green hills. On arrival at Shire’s Rest, embark on a tour of the Hobbiton Movie Set. This location is the largest green set in the world. See 44 hobbit holes, the Mill and double arch bridge, and the party tree, and visit the Green Dragon Inn. Take photos at the door of Bilbo’s house, Bag End, looking out over the whole set to the hills in the distance. After the movie set tour concludes, clients are transferred to Rotorua.

Day 10: Rotorua – Christchurch

Transfer to the Domestic Airport for your flight to Christchurch. You can explore the city by foot, on an open-top bus, or tram, or even relax in a punt as you float down the Avon River on a punt. Experience polar life at the International Antarctic Centre, see the rare kiwi at Willowbank Wildlife Reserve, dive into aviation history at the Air Force Museum, or visit Orana Wildlife Park, New Zealand’s only open-range zoo. Don’t miss visiting Christchurch.

Day 11: Christchurch to Queenstown via Mt. Cook

A vehicle will pick you up from your accommodation to commence a full-day tour from Christchurch to Queenstown via Mount Cook. Depart Christchurch and travel through diverse farmland to Lake Tekapo, where you can view the solitary Church of the Good Shepherd and take in the sights of the spectacular Southern Alps mountain range before continuing on to the location of New Zealand’s tallest mountain, Aoraki / Mount Cook. Stop for lunch in Mt. Cook Village and take advantage of your time here to enjoy the majestic scenery. In the afternoon, the tour continues south through the tawny tussock of the Mackenzie Country. En route, enjoy afternoon tea (at your own expense) in the quaint village of Omarama and a visit to the Jones Family Orchard (time permitting), near Cromwell. Tour concludes in Queenstown at approximately 6:30 PM, at which time accommodation drop-offs will commence.

Day 12: Discover Milford Sound Tour

At 7:20 AM join your coach to commence a full-day tour into the heart of Milford Sound. This is an unforgettable journey in which you’ll experience the world-famous fjord – rich in dense rainforest, glacier-carved valleys, and beautiful waterfalls. Journey across the Southern Alps, take photos of the stunning Mirror Lakes, uncover Eglinton Valley, a place of ancient alpine forest and gushing waterfalls, and then travel deep into the Homer Tunnel, a 1.2km tunnel drilled through solid rock, before walking across The Chasm. At the deep waters of Milford Sound, join a Southern Discoveries Scenic Cruise. See the wonders of Mitre Peak, glacier-scarred rock walls, and waterfalls that tumble through valleys and crash into the sea far below. After the cruise, return to Queenstown by coach. Tour concludes at approximately 7:45 PM, at which time hotel drop offs will commence.
