We’re looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance & Accounts team at Fayyaz Travels, taking responsibility for a varied portfolio of accounting and reporting activities across different areas of the business.

Working alongside our wider team, you’ll combine hands on accounting with review, analysis and financial reporting. You’ll help make sure information is accurate, reconciliations are properly completed and the right financial information is available when teams and management need it.

Attention to detail matters here. We’re looking for someone who naturally cross checks their work, investigates when the numbers don’t make sense and follows things through rather than assuming someone else will pick them up.

You’ll work across different functions and have the opportunity to improve how we use spreadsheets, reporting tools and automation to make everyday finance processes more efficient.

Job Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of an assigned portfolio of accounting and finance activities
• Manage and review accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliations
• Complete and review bank, payment and account reconciliations
• Support month end and year end accounting activities
• Prepare management reports, financial summaries and supporting analysis
• Review financial information for accuracy and investigate discrepancies
• Monitor relevant balances, expenses and financial information across assigned areas
• Work closely with colleagues across different functions to verify information and resolve queries
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities
• Maintain accurate accounting records, controls and supporting documentation
• Support audit, tax and compliance requirements where required
• Provide guidance and review support to junior colleagues where appropriate
• Improve spreadsheets, reporting and finance workflows
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive accounting, reconciliation and reporting activities

Skills and Requirements:

• 4 to 6 years of accounting or finance experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• Strong understanding of financial accounting, reconciliations, month end processes and reporting
• Advanced Excel and/or Google Sheets skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables and financial analysis
• Experience with accounting software and cloud based finance systems
• Excellent attention to detail and strong reconciliation skills
• Able to independently investigate discrepancies and follow issues through to resolution
• Experience preparing clear financial and management reports
• Organised and comfortable managing responsibility for multiple areas of work
• Able to collaborate effectively with colleagues across different functions
• Strong written and spoken English
• Experience with automation tools, Power Query, Google Apps Script or similar technology is an advantage
• Professional accounting qualifications or progress towards ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent would be advantageous
• Able to work independently and take ownership in a remote environment
